“You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.” Second Corinthians 9:7-8
Temple Church believes in the prosperity of God’s people. We also believe that through tithing, you’ll are able to test God to see if He won’t open the windows of Heaven to pour you out blessings. However, it’s now just any blessings. They’ll be blessings you don’t have room enough to receive.
Therefore, tithing must be your choice! We do not believe you are cursed if you choose not to tithe. Yet, our hope is that through teaching, your trust in God, and the witness of Temple, you will trust God with your tithe.
The amount … well, it’s not the amount that matters. It’s your faith!
Therefore, we give you the option to tithe, sow a seed, or give an offering. What is the difference?
TITHE: A gift of thanks to God for what I’ve earned as a result of my ability to work. It’s what I give my place of worship.
SEED: A pre-thanks to God for what I shall receive. It’s what I plant in places where it’s evident they’re fruitful/producing.
OFFERING: Anything extra beyond my tithe and seed.
Our Giving Creed
I am a cheerful giver and I honor God with my tithe and offering. I choose to give because my giving opens the windows of Heaven to pour me out blessings I don’t have room enough to receive. I also give to help my church grow and survive. And when I give, it’s my thanks to God, reminding me that God is my treasure, not money. Therefore, I take pride in my giving knowing it’s my choice and my trust in God to exceed my needs.
